We recently hired Alpha Le Concrete to install a stamped concrete border around our entire barn, including under the porch overhang. Patio pricing depends on square footage, finish (broom, stamped, decorative), site access, and prep like demo or grading. Most Harpers Ferry patios we pour land between 200 and 600 square feet, and every project gets a fixed written estimate before we start — no over-the-phone square-foot guesses. It depends on the project. New driveways, expansions, or any pour that changes drainage or impervious surface coverage typically requires a permit from Jefferson County (WV) Planning & Zoning. Like-for-like replacements that match the original footprint usually don’t. We handle the permit application as part of any project that needs one, so you don’t have to navigate the paperwork.
Light foot traffic is safe after 24–48 hours. Vehicle traffic on a driveway is okay after 7 days minimum, and 10 days for trucks or heavy loads. Full cure to peak strength and sealer-ready is 28 days. We mark off your pour and give your family clear instructions before we leave the site, so nobody steps on it too early.
April through early November is the sweet spot. Concrete sets fine above 40°F as long as overnight lows stay above freezing, so we work outside the prime window when forecasts cooperate. We avoid hard-freeze nights and extreme summer heat without proper curing precautions. If you’re planning a spring patio or driveway in Harpers Ferry, the smartest move is to book your estimate in February or March — our calendar fills fast once the weather turns.
