Concrete that looks like stone.— without the upkeep.
Stamped concrete is poured as a single slab, then imprinted with patterns while the surface is set up but still workable. We hand-stamp each section, apply color hardener for the base tone, and finish with antique release for contrast and depth. The result looks like flagstone, slate, cobblestone, brick, or wood, but acts like concrete: one integrated surface with no shifting pavers, no weeds, and a fraction of the long-term maintenance.
We pour stamped concrete for patios, driveways, pool decks, walkways, and entrance pads. Each project pulls from a library of patterns and color combinations we’ve used on past Northern Virginia homes. Customers serious about stamped get invited to browse the full library after their estimate.
From pattern pick to final cure. — typically 3 days on site, weather permitting.
Pattern & color review
We send sample patterns and color combinations from past Northern Virginia jobs. Once you’ve picked, we lock the layout and schedule the pour.
Day 1 — Site prep
Excavate to depth, compact the base, and install forms and reinforcement.
Day 2 — Pour & stamp
Pour the concrete, broadcast color hardener and float it into the surface. Apply stamps as the concrete sets up, then antique release for the darker contrasting color and depth.
Day 3 — Powerwash & seal
Powerwash off the excess release and apply a concrete sealer. Leo recommends resealing every 2 years to keep the color depth and protect the surface.
Stamped done right — starts before the pour.
Hand-stamped on site
Every section stamped by hand by our crew. No shortcut tools that leave repeating seams or shallow imprints. The texture has to read like stone.
Sealed for Virginia weather
UV-resistant, chlorine-tolerant sealer applied after full cure. We choose the sealer based on use: pool deck vs. patio vs. driveway each get different formulations.
Color library by invitation
After your estimate, you get access to our private library of past patterns + color hardener + antique release combinations. Pick a finish that’s already been proven on a Northern Virginia home.
10+ years of stamped pours
Stamped concrete is harder than it looks. We’ve been pouring it across Northern Virginia for over a decade. Pattern choice, color depth, sealing, all dialed in.
Stamped concrete questions. — the ones we hear most.
01 How long does stamped concrete last?
Stamped concrete is concrete, so the slab itself lasts decades. The visible color and sealer fade slowly with sun exposure. Leo recommends resealing every 2 years to preserve the color depth and protect the surface — that simple maintenance step keeps stamped concrete looking great for decades.
02 Will stamped concrete crack?
There’s a saying in the concrete trade: there are two types of concrete — concrete that has cracked, and concrete that hasn’t cracked yet. All concrete cracks eventually. Our job is to control where, when, and how visibly. We compact the base properly, reinforce the slab, and cut control joints by hand so cracks happen on lines we choose. On stamped concrete, most hairline cracks hide within the pattern itself. Our 1-year limited workmanship warranty covers structural cracks that meet the size/length thresholds — see full warranty terms.
03 Stamped concrete vs. pavers, which is better?
For most Northern Virginia homes, stamped concrete wins on long-term value: no weeds between joints, no shifting or settling, no individual unit replacement. Pavers win when you want easy access to underground utilities or might rearrange the layout later. Aesthetically, both can look great. We’re happy to compare apples-to-apples on an estimate.
04 Can stamped concrete be installed over my existing slab?
Sometimes, depending on the existing slab’s condition. We pour a thin overlay (typically 1.5-2″) on top of structurally-sound existing concrete. If the original slab has major cracks, drainage issues, or is failing, we recommend tear-out and a new pour. We’ll tell you which is right after walking the site.
05 Will the color fade in the sun?
Color hardener is integral (mixed into the concrete surface), not a stain on top, so it doesn’t peel or wash away. UV does slowly soften the antique release contrast over years. Leo recommends resealing every 2 years to restore the color depth — most of our 10-year-old stamped jobs still look great because of that maintenance.
