Trash pads look simple from the outside, but the requirements are real. Most jurisdictions require minimum slab thickness, drainage to prevent runoff to waterways, curbs or walls to contain leaks, and sometimes bollards to protect the surrounding property from garbage truck damage. Get the spec wrong and the inspector won’t sign off.

01 How thick does a trash pad need to be?
Most commercial trash pads are 6″+ to handle dumpster point loads and garbage truck weight. Some jurisdictions or HOA covenants specify higher minimums. We size to your specific requirements.
02 Do you handle the enclosure walls and bollards?
We pour the concrete pad and any concrete curbs. For masonry walls, we coordinate with a mason. For bollards, we install steel-pipe bollards filled with concrete. The scope can be coordinated as a single project.
03 Will my trash pad crack?
There’s a saying in the concrete trade: there are two types of concrete, concrete that has cracked, and concrete that hasn’t cracked yet. All concrete cracks eventually. Our job is to control where: we compact the base properly, reinforce the slab, and place control joints by hand so cracks happen on planned lines instead of random splits. Our 1-year limited workmanship warranty covers structural cracks that meet the size/length thresholds, see full warranty terms.
04 What about drainage codes in Northern Virginia?
Most NoVA jurisdictions require trash pad runoff to be contained or directed to a sanitary drain (not storm). We confirm the code for your property and design drainage accordingly.
